Folktales & Fables: The Tortoise and The Hare

One of Aesops most famous fables, this tale tells of a race between a slow and steady tortoise and a bit of an overconfident hare who is certain he will be victor. When the race begins the hare speeds past the tortoise without a second thought. Meanwhile the tortoise is just happy to be here, not letting his physical limitations stop him from achieving his goal of finishing the race anyway. Because the hare is so sure of himself and his victory, he decides to take a small nap on a nearby tree thinking he’s got plenty of time to spare. The tortoise continues on one step at a time passing the sleeping hare to accept his victory across the finish line.

The moral of this tale is to stay humble. Remain dedicated no matter where you stand in the line up. Put one foot in front of the other to achieve your wildest dreams.
